Now, if you have a good pair of headphones it would be a impractical to replace the headphones, but one alternative is you can replace the headphone jack by yourself, which is really simple to do and saves you the cost of a new pair of headphones.
How do you fix a 3.5 mm headphone jack?
- Step 1 4-Pole 3.5mm Jack.
- Cut open the outer insulation of the cable connected to the old jack to expose the internal wires.
- Apply a small amount of solder to the tips of each of the internal wires.
- Turn on the multimeter and set it to measure resistance.
- Cut away the insulation on the wire connected to the headphones.
What kind of repairs did you do on your Sony Walkman?

Why did my Walkman WM-10 lose its belt?
The WM-10 is an early model from the 1980s, and was Sony’s attempt at making a Walkman “small”. Other models of the time were too big to fit in a typical pocket. This one is barely bigger than the cassette itself and “shrinks” when you remove the cassette. Being old, the belt had degraded and turned to goo.
