Some local Citizens Advice still can’t give face to face advice. They might be able to help by phone, email or online chat instead. If you can’t contact your local Citizens Advice, you can still get help by calling our national phone line or by talking to an adviser online.
How long does it take for Citizens Advice to answer the phone?
An adviser will answer your call as soon as possible, usually within a few minutes. Once you’re speaking to an adviser your call should take an average of 8 to 10 minutes.
Are Citizens Advice free?
We give people the knowledge and confidence they need to find their way forward – whoever they are, and whatever their problem. Our national charity and network of local charities offer confidential advice online, over the phone, and in person, for free.
Do you need an appointment for Citizens Advice?
An important part of our service is to advise clients by appointment. Sometimes this is not necessary, as clients may take away information and be able to help themselves. However, some clients need an appointment to discuss the problem in more detail.

Recent changes by ComReg decided that the cost of calling these numbers must be the same as calling any other landline.
