Your WWOOF-USA® membership provides you with a great opportunity to travel throughout the USA while learning organic farming and other sustainable living practices. As a WWOOFer you will participate in the daily lives of your host family, experience a new culture and meet people from various walks of life.

How much does it cost to join WWOOF?

You can pay $40 for a single WWOOF membership or $65 for a joint WWOOF membership. Joint memberships are suitable if you wanted to WWOOF with a partner or friend. Membership lasts a year and entitles you to undertake unlimited WWOOFing trips, along with other benefits.

Is WWOOF USA legit?

WWOOF is built on trust and is self-monitoring, and operates largely on the honor system with members trusting one another to be respectful and to fulfill the mission of WWOOF. Because of this, we rely strongly on feedback and reviews from hosts and WWOOFers about their experiences and take complaints seriously.

Do you need a visa to WWOOF abroad?

Most WWOOFers enter the USA using a tourist visa; however, it is your responsibility to determine the correct visa for your visit. The United States has extremely strict labor and immigration laws that prohibit foreign nationals from “working” or “volunteering” in the country without a work visa.

Do u get paid to WWOOF?

No! WWOOF is a mutual exchange! Any member who joins WWOOF will not be receiving any salary or daily allowances during the exchange. Receiving payment for work done on a volunteer exchange jeopardizes the host and the entire WWOOF program as stringent laws must be followed when hiring an “employee”.

Is WWOOFing legal in Australia?

There are no legally binding standards and regulations from WWOOF Australia regarding accommodation for WWOOFers. The facilities offered vary from host to host. Many farms offer guest rooms in their residential buildings; others have their own workers’ apartments, which are usually separate from the family home.

Gain access to the forums, where you can contact hosts and other WWOOFers, post questions, and gain valuable information about WWOOFing. From the host profile page, look for “Request Visit’ to initiate a visit with potential hosts. Craft thoughtful messages showing the host why you would be a great fit to join them for a WWOOF visit.

Is WWOOF a work agency?

WWOOF is not a work agency, nor should it be seen as providing a long term solution to meeting housing/employment needs. Please keep in mind that WWOOF is NOT paid work it is a cultural and educational exchange.
