How do you get the SSI Specialty Diver rating?

SSI Specialty Diver SSI’s intermediate diver rating is higher than any other agency’s advanced courses. To earn the certification for Specialty Diver, you must complete 2 specialty courses and have done a total of 12 dives.

Does SSI recognize PADI?

But will people accept an SSI qualification in a PADI shop? Yes! Both organizations are recognised all over the world for quality scuba diving training. Any qualification you gain with either will be valid in any dive shop.

What is a SSI master diver?

Master Diver rating is Level 4 diver in the SSI recognition path, Level 5 diver is the next recognition level with 100 dives. The SSI Master Diver level is primarily a personal achievement. It is also the goal of our dive centers to encourage people to shoot for this goal. We have been doing this a long time.

How deep can an open water certified diver go?

A properly outfitted diver in training can generally descend to 60 feet if they are old enough. Divers with Open Water and Advanced Open Water certifications from PADI can descend to 100 feet and as far as 130 feet. There are amazing things to see under the water at various depths.

What is SSI open water?

The SSI Open Water Diver is our most popular certification level. This globally-recognized certification will allow you to dive with another certified diver, worldwide, to depths of up to 18m / 60 feet and is valid for life. Over the next 2 days, you will complete 4 Open Water Training Dives with your Instructor.

What is specialty diver?

These specialties are designed to introduce you to a new set of skills or a different diving environment safely under the supervision of PADI professionals. How many master divers are there?

Out of 160 Seabee divers, only 2 to 4 percent will ultimately earn the title of “master.” Enlisted sailors learn construction and demolition, without the added pressure of doing it underwater.

How do I become an SSI advanced open water diver?

To get the certification card as an SSI Advanced Open Water Diver, you will need to have a minimum of 24 dives (logged) and have completed four specialties courses of your choice. You can get your recognition level card with us at Scotty’s Dive Center if you have already 24 logged dives and are certified in 4 diving specialties.

How deep can you dive with the SSI scuba diver certification?

With the SSI Scuba Diver certification, you can dive up to 12 meters deep with an SSI Professional in open waters and will have completed almost half of the Open Water Diver training. By completing the remaining academic training, pool/confined water sessions and two open water training dives, you will become an Open Water Diver.

What is an SSI referral diver?

As an SSI Referral Diver, you will be able to dive up to 5 meters deep in confined waters with a buddy. Typically as a Referral Diver, you will have completed the Open Water Diver academic and pool/confined water sessions at your local training center and plan to do your open water training dives elsewhere.

What happens if I can’t complete my Open Water Diver program?

Sometimes plans change and we understand that. If you are unable to complete your Open Water Diver program, you can credit your learning towards other certifications and upgrade at any time.
