**Update 2/21/17** Micomsoft is discontinuing this product due to the chipset for it no longer being manufactured. You can get on a back order list at Solarisejapan.com to get one for MSRP instead of paying a reseller some insane price. In the end the Framemeister is a great device but for the right price.
What does Framemeister do?
It has been stated that the Framemeister adds 1 frame or 20 milliseconds of lag compared to the unprocessed output (i.e. being connected to a CRT). TVs upscale and process all video to its native resolution before displaying it, so in this regard the Framemesiter is superior to just about any TV.

The XRGB-mini Framemeister (usually just called Framemeister ot XRGB-mini) is a complex digital upscaler made by a Japanese company named Micomsoft and is targeted specifically for retro gaming.
Should I get xrgb-mini or SCART?
I recommend SCART cables, but you will need to buy a special SCART cable adapter to replace the JP21 cable adapter that comes with the unit. You will also need to mod some systems to even get RGB. If your committed to all that than you won’t be disappointed in XRGB-Mini.
What type of RGB cable does the framemeister use?
The Framemeister uses a custom 8-pin mini-DIN connector for RGB inputs, which accepts adapters for RGB cables (japanese JP21 or European SCART). European users usually will be using (Euro)SCART cables.
How bad is the input lag with the framemeister?
With the Framemeister, the input lag is completely bearable. I’ve tested my SNES using S-video and my Famicom using *shudder* composite. Both look far better than expected and play wonderfully for a TV that already has input lag in of itself.
